Chapter 5

*sooo, this one's a bit intense. I kinda rushed this one, there could be a few mistakes, I didn't really check it over. but overall you should enjoy it :) and oh yah. COMMENTS PLEASE. Thanks :)*

*Julie’s POV*

He just left for practice and I was terrified. For him. They were going to attack him with questions afterwards. I know he’ll say nothing, but I knew he was going to be overwhelmed and torn apart. I was honestly scared for myself too, I don’t know where I was going to go to keep them away. You never know who is a freaking reporter just waiting for the perfect moment to catch you in the act.

I grabbed my keys and slipped on my shoes. I was ready to head out, when I heard a phone ringing. I searched my pockets and found mine in the back pocket. I turned the corner into the kitchen and saw Max’s on the table. The number didn’t show up, so I answered.

“Hello?”
“Where’s Max?” a female voice answered. She sounded upset.
“Um, gone to practice right now, who is this?”
“Liz, who is this?”
I froze. What the hell was I supposed to say to his ex wife?
“Um…”
“Well?” she was impatient.
“Julie” I said quietly.
“So you’re the one that ruined our marriage? Broke us apart?”
I deserved that, but I had nothing to say, but she kept going.
“You know…a whore like you does not deserve the love he has to offer”
“And you do!?” I shot back.
“I know him inside and out, I’ve known him longer than you have, I’ve loved him longer than you have and I will not let someone like you ruin that!?”
“Someone like me? The someone he’s in love with? The someone he chose over you? You’re a self-righteous bitch who doesn’t deserve an ounce of the love he has to give. He may have married you, but I have no doubt in my mind that someday I will be the one with his ring on my finger!” I was ready to scream.
“You bitch…” she said quietly.
“You’re probably the one who let this all out into the media so I would shut your mouth right now!”
She was silent.
“It was you!”
“That is none of your business” she snapped.
“So it was you” I repeated quieter.
“I didn’t mean for it to get out that way”
“I lost my fucking job for this. This could hurt Max’s career like you wouldn’t believe. Do you care about anyone but yourself!?” I felt like punching something at this point.
“After I found out about Max’s affair I went out. I was furious. Pissed off. I didn’t realize the guy was a reporter. I just thought he was flirting…so I told him”
“You told a complete stranger--”
“My emotions got the best of me alright!? I don’t know who got the pictures, I just said what happened…the pictures are not my fault”
“I’m done talking to you” I said hanging up the phone.

The nerve of that bitch to do that and then freak out at Max for letting it get out. I would love to go find her and give her a piece of my mind…like that would really do anything.

I grabbed his phone and my keys. I drove myself to Mellon Arena so I could talk to him after practice. I came in and sat back as I watched the practice, thank goodness they didn’t have any media around…yet. I made the decision to stay away from the dressing room. I didn’t need to be in there when they were to show up. I waited in my car.

After a while I saw a few of them coming out and I spotted Max. I tried to not be obvious, but all the guys knew about it now. I got a couple looks from Crosby, Malkin and even Letang. I ignored them and leaned against the hood of my car, dangling my keys. I saw him lean against the hood beside me. I slowly handed him his phone.

“You ok?” he asked.
“I talked to Liz” I said quietly.
“What!?” he said in a hushed tone.
“Your phone rang. There was no caller id, I answered…”
“And it was Liz…” he said.
“She’s a bitch” I said.

He didn’t reply.

“I’ve ruined everything haven’t I?” I sighed standing up.
“No” he said, “this is for the best Julie, you and me”
I ignored him, “did you talk to the media at all?”
“Yes…”
“And?”
“I said nothing, I ignored them and told them to not bring the fucking subject up again”
“Well that’s classy of you” I smirked.
He just laughed, “nobody is telling me being with you is wrong. I know cheating on Liz was wrong…but the decsion to be with you, I will never regret”

I just smiled big and bit my lip.

I heard someone come up behind me and Max looked up. I turned my head and saw Letang standing behind me. I didn’t say anything.

“What’s up with you ruining a happy marriage?” he said. If you didn’t know…Letang was engaged, and very happy.
I didn’t respond.
“Hey Kris, you want to drop this” said Max.
“How the hell do you know she doesn’t have someone else waiting for her?” he said.

At that point I was so furious I shoved him into the car behind him. He had a look of shock on his face.

“You should keep this one on a short leash” he said with a smug smile.
“Excuse me!?” I snapped lunging at him.
Max grabbed me and pulled me back, “just relax baby, he shouldn’t be saying a word”
“You fucking shut your mouth or your fiancee is going to find out about the blonde whore from Friday night” Max said quietly.
“You wouldn’t…” he said his eyes narrowing.
“Dude, you are getting on my last nerve so don’t think I wouldn’t…”
“Fine” he said backing off.

“Max, you need to know something” I told him opening the door of my car.
He just looked at me waiting for what it was I had to say.
“Liz told me it was her that told the media…”

Chapter 4

*So I'm pretty sure, this is my favorite chapter yet for this story:D i hope you guys agree. rememberr commmenttt pleaseee. Thanks you XD*

*Max’s POV*

I went to Jordan’s and threw my bag on his floor as he opened the door. He looked down at the suitcase and back up at me.

“This doesn’t look good” he said still looking up and down between me and the suitcase.
“We had a fight, she kicked me out basically” I said walking in.
“Did you tell Julie?” he asked, “find out how she’s taking this whole media thing?”
“Well she was the one who told me the whole thing” I began, “but I haven’t talked to her since”
“Call her” was all he said putting his house phone in my hands.

I dialled her number quickly and waited impatiently for her to answer.

*Julie’s POV*

I saw a number on my phone I didn’t recognize, I picked up anyways curious as to who it could be.

“Hey” was all I heard, I quickly discovered it was Max.
“How are you?” I asked anxiously, I was worried about him.
“I’m fine, I’m more worried about you”
“Don’t worry about me, I’ll survive” I said, “I was fired though”
“I’m sorry Julie” he sighed.
“It’s all good, he didn’t like me in the first place, he finally found a reason to get rid of me” I chuckled.
He just laughed, “I talked to Liz”
The tone got serious again, “And?”
“She kicked me out” he simply said.
“Oh…I’m sorry” I replied.
“It’s ok” he said, “maybe it’s for the best right now”
“Yah…” I said. I didn’t know what else to say at this point, “where are you?”
“Jordan’s” he said.
“I’m coming over, and don’t try and convince me otherwise” I told him.
“Ok” he said.

I knew where Jordan lived, yes. We actually knew each other some time before he became a huge hockey star. I know I should have mentioned it earlier, but I didn’t think it was that relevant. But we are good friends, which is half the reason I met Max, the other half is--or was my job.

I changed into a pair of dark ripped jeans, a long grey cardigan sweater and a white tank top underneath. It was fairly warm for spring. I just left my hair as is and put on some blush, mascara and lip gloss and I slipped on my flip flops.

I quickly made my way to his apartment and walked up to the second floor of the building. I knocked on the door impatiently and saw Jordan open the door.

“Hey Jor” I smiled.

Before he could say anything I saw Max over his shoulder and ran over to him. I gave him a huge hug and Jordan just looked on. Seriously his arms around me again was the most amazing feeling in the world. I was so in love.

“I’m sorry” he whispered.
“It’s ok” I said, “it’s not your fault”
“I love you…only you” he said.
I pulled back and was shocked at the words he had just spoken. Was this it?
“Me? After all this…it’s me?” I was choking, but kept my tears back.
“It’s always been you” he said putting his hand on my cheek.
I just took that hand in mine, “I never thought I would hear you say that…”
“I thought she was the one Julie, until I met you. My whole world flipped upside down when I met you…in a good way”
I just smiled and bit my lip, “I love you Max Talbot”
“I love you Julie Miller…and I’m not leaving you again”
“I hate to break up the moment, but it seems you have some followers” Jordan said pointing towards the porch.

I slowly walked out on the porch and looked over the edge quickly then pulled my head back.

“How did they follow me? Do they know where I freaking live?” I huffed.
“They’re everywhere” Jordan said.
“They can’t stay all night” said Max, “they’ll eventually have to leave”

Just then there was a knock on the door. Like an idiot Jordan answered it and quickly shut it, seeing the camera.

“Nice going moron” I said giving him a playful shove.
“Ouch” he said with a smirk.
I just smiled sarcastically and looked outside, they were still there.
“They just don’t fucking let up” I sighed.
“Wow, where did this feisty side come from?” Jordan asked, “I remember you timid and shy…and a lot quieter…and not so violent” he just rubbed his arm where I pushed him.
“That’s what you get for being with this jackass” I joked pointing to Max who was standing behind me.
“Love you too” Max laughed.
I reached my hand backwards and gave him a pat on the cheek, and smiled proudly back at him.

*Max’s POV*

I knew there was reason she was the one. Not only was she amazing, confident and beautiful. She could light up even a situation like this with no effort whatsoever. I was not ready to go to the media with this, but I was glad I had someone beside me during the entire thing, until it eventually blew over, and who knows how long that will take.

The three of us were sitting on the couch watching as the whole thing unfolded. They didn’t spend a lot of time on it, I’m pretty sure there were more important things to worry about. But it seemed like the header every time a new edition of sports highlights came on. I was surprised how well Julie was actually taking this. I was surprised how well I was taking this. This could hurt my career….severely, even if they don’t find out the truth. The allegations…the pictures, they are enough ammo to do damage.

I looked over at Julie who was joking around with Jordan. I had no idea what they were going on about….I was lost in my own thoughts, which is quite rare actually. I just smiled as I saw how happy she was, I have honestly never seen her this happy in a long time, since before she found out about Liz. It made me happy. It would kill me to even see her hurting, even just the slightest bit.

“Dinner?” she said standing up. We really had nothing else to do.
“You cook?” Jordan asked her in a serious tone.
“No, not really….but I do know places where we can get a decent pizza and I already know you have the beer Jordan” she said smiling proudly his way.
I just laughed, “sounds like a night in to me”

She grabbed the phone and went into the other room. I just watched Jordan go into the fridge and grab a couple beers and hand me one.

“You happy now?” he asked me.
“Well, in a way yes” I said with a sigh of relief.
“Continue” he said.
“I know picking her was the right decision, even if it was a quick one” I began, “She makes me so happy Jordan. I also know that these next few days are going to be hell, I mean, I can’t stay here forever, they are going to ask me the moment they catch me after practice, and Liz and I will end up getting a divorce because of this, and do you know how messy that will get? So I’m freaking glad I have Julie by my side, I don’t know what I’d do without her”
“I could tell you loved her the moment you spoke her name when you confessed what you were doing. I wouldn’t expect anything less” he said taking a sip, “if I were you, I would say she’s the one”
I just nodded in agreement, “I believe that with my whole heart”
“Pizza’s coming!” she exclaimed from the kitchen.
“Ok!” we both said sitting down.
She came in the room, also with drink in hand. There was something about her…

*Julie’s POV*

I was so happy right now. I know what was going on and I knew what would happen in the next few days, but I didn’t mind. These guys were my life right now, and tonight was all I wanted to think about.

I sat between them and grabbed the remote from Jordan’s hands. He tried to grab it but I quickly stood up and sat on the chair next to the couch to avoid him. He was too lazy to try and get it back. I looked through the channels and found the Canadiens and Bruins game.

“We’re watching this and I don’t want anyone trying to switch it on me” I practically commanded.
“Yes ma’am” Jordan joked as he sat back in the couch.

I just laughed as I set the remote safely beside me. See? It really does not get any better than this, I didn’t want to think about tomorrow…I just wanted tonight, I just wanted Jordan, Max, beer, pizza and a good hockey game to forget about what was coming.

Chapter 3

*soooo im gettin some feedback on this story which im enhjoying ;) im thinking of making up a little video promo/introduction sort of thing for this one, nothing huge, but maybe to get some people reading and following :) I hope ya's enjoy this chapter, it's not majorly exciting but i still think you will find it enjoyable XD*

The past few weeks I have not seen Max. I have talked to him a bit, but he just called to see how I was. I didn’t tell him the honest truth, because I was falling apart.

This next week was a big homestand for Pittsburgh so they were going to be around for a while, which means, Max has made his decision, well I hope he has.

*Max’s POV*

We just got to Pittsburgh. My stomach was turning, I’ve never been nervous like this before. I still hadn’t made a decision. I had talked to both of them since being gone, and honestly Jor was still rooting for Julie, Fleury knew too, and he honestly adored Julie, no one else on the team knew, I had to be careful, if it got to the media…I would be screwed.

I walked into Mellon Arena and got ready for a short practice since last night’s loss to the Rangers. I looked at my phone as I sat down in my stall, Liz had called, she must have done her thinking, but I realized, I haven’t done any myself…

*Julie’s POV*

I sat on my couch curled up in a warm blanket while watching “A Walk to Remember”. Saddest movie ever. I was balling by the end of it. I wiped my eyes and got up to grab myself some coffee, when I heard my phone go off. I froze.

I sat there watching it ring. It stopped, indicating they hung up, but they tried again, I knew it was Max, he was very determined even when making a phone call. I finally grabbed it off the couch, sat down and put the blanket over me.

“Hi” I said answering.
“Hey” he said, “um, were back in Pittsburgh”
“That’s good” I said, I didn’t know what he wanted me to say.
“Liz called”
I just sat there silent for a minute, preparing myself for what could come next.
“And?” I said quietly.
“I missed the call, I’m going over to talk to her”
“Oh…”
I was flipping through the channels when I landed on FSN. Some hockey game highlights were on and then…the dreaded happened.

‘TALBOT WITH ANOTHER WOMAN?’

I nearly dropped my phone and let out a small gasp.

“Max…” I said.
“Something wrong?” he asked.
“They--they--kn--they know” I whispered.
“Who knows what babe?” he asked.

I put the phone up to the tv so he could hear what they were saying. I finally put it back up to my ear and I heard a sigh.

“Who would have said something?” he sounded like he was asking himself.
“Who else knows?” I asked him surprisingly.
“Only Liz, Jor and Fleury” he replied, “Liz wouldn’t, she wouldn’t want the attention, and the guys, just aren’t like that, they would never sell me out Julie”
I just sat silent, I didn’t think anyone else knew…
“I need to go talk to Liz. Maybe that’s why she called” he said anxiously.
“Call me after” I said.

He hung up quickly and I just set my phone down slowly. I grabbed my laptop and quickly looked at the latest sports headlines. Sure enough, it was already around.

‘TALBOT SLEEPING WITH JOURNALIST’

‘MAXIME TALBOT FINDS NEW LOVE’

‘DIVORCE ON THE WAY FOR TALBOT AND WIFE LIZ?’

“Holy shit” I whispered to myself putting my hand over my mouth.

There were pictures and everything. Us in his car, at Diesel that night, and even him coming into the apartment. I thought we were subtle after I found out about his marriage, how did someone find out and why did they wait that long to leak all of this? Who would be heartless enough to do such a thing?

I was getting phone calls and texts like crazy now. My best friends, my sister, my parents. How would I face them again? How was I supposed to respond to this? I grabbed it seeing a text from Ally, my sister.

“What the hell is going on Julie?” was all she put.
I tried to play innocent, “what are you talking about?” I texted back.
“Don’t play innocent with me little sister, what the hell are you doing fooling around with a married man?”

I dialled her number and decided to call her instead. I couldn’t explain it all in a text.

“Ally, he never told me he was married until I had already fallen for him. He never wore his ring when he was at the club. It just never phased me as a possibility!”
“Well why didn’t you leave after you found out? Find someone else you could fall in love with, who wasn’t married!”
“I’m sorry” I started choking up, “I couldn’t let him go, I was in love. I still am…”
“How is she going to react when she finds out?” she asked me.
“She knew before any of this leaked” I sighed, “Max had told her”
“Wow” was all she said.
“I don’t need your bitching right now Ally. I need my sister” I sighed.
“I’m sorry” she replied, “this just didn’t seem like you, I didn’t believe it at first”
“It’s ok” I said, “have you talked to mom and dad yet?”
“They’re both furious”
“Oh joy” I said leaning back on the couch.
“You need to talk to them”
“I will call them tonight, I’ll talk to you soon”

I put my phone down and ignored any texts I received from the past little while.

*Max’s POV*

I couldn’t believe this had been leaked. I raced home to find Liz in a heap of tears. I sat next to her and she just cried in my chest. What the hell was I doing? I was ruining everything we had together. I was breaking her heart, and this media wasn’t helping. It was only a matter of time I would be bombarded with press and questions at the next post-game conference.

“I’m so sorry Liz” I told her, “I didn’t want this to happen”
“Well it did Max, and you fell in love with her, how the hell will you decide? And how are you going to face your team again?” she asked me.
“I’ll survive” I said.
“Well good luck with that, but until you make a fucking decision, you are not staying in this place with me, move out to Jordan’s, Fleury’s or go to your freaking whore, I don’t care”
“Ok, that’s it Liz, that whore is the woman I’m in love with. And for the record she’s not a whore, and she is being a lot more mature about this whole situation than you have, she has known I was married for the past four months and has not acted in any way against you. She almost told me to go back to you…”
“She sounds wonderful, maybe I should meet her” she said sarcastically.
“Ok, now you’re just being a smart ass” I said standing up.
“Well she does” she said seriously, “sounds like you two would make a good match”
“You’re unbelievable!” I said raising my voice.
“You’re the one who cheated on me, don’t start acting like the freaking victim Max! You knew this would come back and bite you in the ass!”
“I’m leaving” I said going to the bedroom. I packed what I could and shut the bedroom door behind me.
“Have a good one” I said sarcastically walking out the door. Probably for the last time.

*Julie’s POV*

I was going insane. Everything hurt right now. After this how could he not go back to her? Why would he go back to the one who caused this whole mess in the first place? I got a call from my boss, who fired me on the spot. Great, no job, no Max, my life is done.

I sat on my couch trying to avoid the media coverage on this whole scandal. But it was impossible. It was all over the place, tomorrow it would be in the papers and tabloids, I dreaded the morning when I would have to see a picture of us, the night our worlds collided. The night that would change our lives completely.

Chapter 2

*Directions: You are to read this chapter and then go comment. I need comments so I know that this story is worth spending my time on or not. Thank you for your cooperation and I expect much feedback :)*

*Julie’s POV*

I sat in the living room literally glancing at my phone every few minutes. It’s ridiculous how nervous I was. I couldn’t even watch sports, or even listen to music. He clouded my mind completely and I couldn’t do anything but think about what was happening over there. I wanted to call him so badly but knew it could mess it up if he was in the middle of a conversation with her. I really got myself into a mess, and now that I’ve fallen for him, I can’t clean up the mess.

*Max’s POV*

I finally told her. She hadn’t said a word since I spoke the dreaded “I’ve been cheating on you”. All I could hear were small sobs coming from our bedroom. She locked the door. I have been sitting against the wall for the past hour waiting to see if she would face me, I wouldn’t blame her if she threw all of my things at me now. I finally saw the door open and stood up quickly. Her face was tear streaked and there were still some falling.

“Max…” she said quietly, she could barely even speak my name.
“What baby?” I replied.
“Don’t call me that” she snapped wiping a tear away.
“Sorry” I whispered.
“Me or her” she simply said.
“Excuse me?”
“Me or her?” she said again.
“Don’t ask me that” I replied.

She scoffed and walked into the living room.

“Is it that hard to choose? Between your wife and the whore?”
“Don’t call her that” I said. Bad move.
“Now you’re defending her?” she said crossing her arms.

I didn’t respond.

“Who is she?” she asked me.
“That doesn’t matter” I said.
“It fucking matters to me Max, you tell me who she is!”
“Julie Miller” I said quickly.
“How and when did you meet her? How did this whole thing start?”
“It was after a big win, we were all down at Diesel, the guys and I were drinking. She was a writer for some sports magazine, Kris invited her, and it went a tad far…”
“How far?” she asked.
“Not that far”
“How fucking far Max?” she tried to stay calm.
“We made out…small room in the back of the club, we were both drunk…”
“And how did you remember her?”
“I saw her the next day, she was doing more interviews…we hit it off”
“How long ago?”
“6 months” I said quickly.

She sighed and closed her eyes.
“What do I do with this?” she whispered.
“I don’t know Liz…” I sighed.
“I should be throwing you out, all the times you told me you were out with the guys after the game…you were with her…this morning when I called you, you didn’t crash at Kris’…you were with her…weren’t you?”

I just nodded.

“What does she think of all of this?”
“She’s in love Liz”
“Are you?” she asked.

I couldn’t say it, even though I knew I was, but I loved her so completely too.

“Yes…but I love you too”
“Well good luck with that” she scoffed looking out the window.

I just pursed my lips and looked at her. Her blonde hair was pulled up in a messy bun and she was in sweats and a t-shirt. My t-shirt. Her back was to me and I just looked her up and down. I walked towards her and wrapped my hands around her waist, she didn’t move. I moved my hand up under her shirt onto her soft flat stomach.

“Don’t do that” she said pushing it down.
“Why?” I asked kissing the back of her neck.
“You know…oh…I can’t say no to you” she said trying to move away.
“Come on”
“No Max…I-I’m sorry, I think you need to go…let me think”
“Ok…” I sighed, “I’ll be at Jordan’s if you need anything”
“Will you really?”
“Of course” I said.
“Ok…”

I knew she didn’t believe me. I also knew I probably wouldn’t end up staying at Jordan’s…

*Julie’s POV*

I waited for two hours hoping my phone would ring, finally I saw his name on my phone and heard my ringtone. I anxiously grabbed it and answered.

“Hey” I simply said.
“Went better than expected” he said.
“And?” I replied.
“She needs to think about it” he said, “some space”
“Oh…” was all I said.
“I’m going to Jordan’s…we have a game tonight…and we leave tomorrow for our week long road trip…I think staying away from both of you…with some time to think and maybe I can clear my head…figure this all out”
“I’m going to miss you like crazy”
“I’ll miss you too, but I need to go Jules”
“I love you” I said.
“…bye” was all he said and he hung up.

This hurt…a lot and I didn’t know what I was supposed to do now. I was nothing without him, there was a huge hole in my heart only he could fill and I knew she probably felt the same way which hurt even more. I can’t share him. He’s either mine or her’s…not ours, it didn’t work that way.

I sat down on the couch and stared at the wall for an hour. Thoughts rushing in and out through my mind, about Max, my life…the day I met him, how I was in love the moment he spoke to me. His gorgeous dark eyes, his adorable smile…beautiful dark hair, the scruff on his face that only he could make look good. He was perfect in my eyes, beautiful…and perfect.

*Max’s POV*

I sat at Jordan’s, he was trying to process everything I just told him. You could tell he was thinking hard too, you could almost see the smoke coming from his head.

“Ok…it’s been an hour of pure silence” I finally said standing up.
“Dude, I can’t make this decision for you. You’re in love with both of them, but who is the one you can see yourself with? The one you constantly talk about…except around the other guys..? The one who has stuck with you through the hard times, like finding out you’re married…”

I think that last part was a hint. I knew he preferred Julie…he never liked Liz.

“Well I can see your preference” I said standing up.
“She’s incredible and she loves you so much Max, how did Julie react when she found out you were married?” he asked.
“She was shocked, upset…but she stayed with me”
“And Liz?”
“She cried, locked herself in the room and yelled at me. Now…she’s thinking” I sighed.
“This is up to you” he simply said.
“Thanks Jor” I said, “I need to grab my stuff before practice…it’s at Julie’s”
“Go” he said, “do what you have to do”

I slowly drove back to the apartment I had left a few hours ago…to go tell my wife I was in love with two women. I walked slowly up the stairs and unlocked the door.

*Julie’s POV*

I heard him come in and didn’t look at him. I kept staring at the blank wall. I finally felt him sit beside me. I finally put my head down but didn’t look at him.

“Max…I thought you weren‘t--”
“Julie…I love you”
“I know you do…I love you too, but…why are you here?”
“Don’t talk”

I finally looked up at him and just from his eyes you could see he was angry, frustrated, upset…I didn’t know what to do so I looked down at the floor. He put his hand under my chin and lifted my head, I couldn’t help but look at him. He leaned in to kiss me…I pulled away. “What?”

“You’re married” I simply said.
“Never stopped you before” he said leaning in for a kiss, I stopped him.
“Max, this time is different, this time she knows…” I stood up and faced away from him.

I heard him stand up and come behind me. He wrapped his arms around my waist and put his head on my shoulder. I closed my eyes and took in his scent. This may be the last time I ever do. It killed me to even think about that.

“Max, I think you have to go now” I said pulling away from his grasp, I feared it was the last time I would feel those arms around me, “I don’t want you missing practice”
“I’m going to miss you” he said.
“I know” I replied.

He went to the bedroom and gathered up his stuff quickly shoving it all in his bag.

“Bye Jules”
“Bye Max. Play hard and score a goal for me, cause I’ll be watching”
He just chuckled and placed a small kiss on my lips.
“I’m coming back for you” he said.
“Don’t say that now” I sighed closing my eyes, “tell me when you get back. Think, please”
“I love you Julie Miller”
“And I love you Talbot, now go”

He grabbed his stuff and shut the door behind him. I sighed thinking this could be the last time for us. Everything we went through. I knew he would pick his wife. He won’t give up on a life he promised her to be with someone like me…it just wouldn’t make sense….
